The children enjoyed estimating how many things were in jars and packets. They were asked to estimate if they thought there were 10’s, 100’s, 1000’s and even 1,000,000’s in the containers! The children were then given an interesting challenge, can you fit a million things in your hands? What do you think they said?

The children listened to a story called ‘How Big is a Million?’In the story the character Pipkin is a penguin who is curious to find out what a million looks like. The children used different shapes to make their own Pipkin.

In science the children planted a runner bean, over the next few weeks they will be making observations and recording them in a diary. The children are really excited to see what happens!

We started our new RE topic today. The children are learning about Jewish families. We began by looking at different artefacts from this religion and we discussed why we think they are special. The children handled these objects with care and respect.

The children enjoyed planting runner beans today. They put them in a clear pot with paper towels and watered them. This way the children will be able to see the roots and shoots clearly as the plant grows. They are also writing a bean diary. Keep posted for bean plant progress!
